In-teg-ri-ty: firm adherence to a code of especially moral or artistic values: INCORRUPTIBILITY

I believe integrity is humanity's greatest virtue. I was first introduced to this desirable quality while growing up in Fallbrook where everyone knew my name. During that time, I represented my family in everything that I did, and for that reason I had to be a man of my word. I carried this principle through my college days at UCLA and finally put it to the test when I began working as a General Contractor. I am proud to say that after 27 years as a General Contractor, I still believe in and live by the virtue of integrity.

So what does a house built with integrity look like?

It begins with the foundation as I use 5/8" thick steal rebar in the footings (instead of the country's requirement of ½"), and steal rebar in the slab instead of wire mesh. Second, I place fire blocks in every wall rather than just the corner walls. Third, I install only copper electrical wiring (I refuse to use the cheaper aluminum wiring). Fourth, I use 4x4 posts instead of nailing two 2x4's together. Finally, I place two 40 lbs layers of felt paper on the roof rather than the minimum of one 30 lbs layer. I do all of this because I believe a house should not a) have a cracked foundation, b) burn down because of cheap wiring, c) leak when the rains come, or d) collapse in an earthquake. Instead, I put extra into my homes so that my clients will enjoy them and be free from worry.

Building with integrity means going the extra distance to make sure the job is done well. This is what Robert Lackey Construction And Design is about and if you want to live in a home that is built with much care and precision, give me a call. I promise you will not be sorry!
